ACT Testing

On April 19th,  Juniors and Seniors who signed up to take the ACT were able to take the test.

The ACT is an academic test that allows students to show what they have learned in  school. There are five sections of the ACT test – English, Mathematics, Reading, Science and  an optional writing test. The test takes up to 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete including breaks. There are normally 215 multiple choice questions in all (

Most colleges and some jobs require ACT scores. Students can also get scholarship offers depending on scores on the ACT.

The average ACT score is a 20 and the highest one can score is a 36. ( The ACT is the most popular college entrance exam in the country.

Here are some tips on how to prep for the ACT test:

  • Start studying ahead of time
  • Try to train yourself to answer questions in a speedy manor
  • Boost your vocabulary (download apps on our phone that help build vocabulary)
  • Get plenty of sleep the night before
  • Stay hydrated and eat a good breakfast and lunch
  • Stay focused
